In conjunction with major internal modification and fit-out works, Matrix were commissioned to refurbish the existing flat roof which had begun to leak.

Preparation Works

Matrix initially removed the existing roof covering including over 16 tonnes of loose laid ballast and full bonded insulation. The insulation had been locally bonded in a bitumen adhesive which had to be removed prior to the installation of the primer element of the liquid system.

Liquid Applied Coating

Following preparation works all details, penetrations, surface mounted plant and RWO’s were treated using a wet on wet fleece reinforcement. The cold applied Triflex ProTect system was then installed to all horizontal areas to provide a seamless, watertight and fully guaranteed solution. The stone ballast was also redistributed across the roof on top of new loose laid insulation.

Daily Health and Safety meetings took place during the contract, and Matrix were delighted to be awarded Safe Contractor of the month during the roofing works.
