Comprehensive scope of works

Matrix were approached by the University and their consultant, Gardiner and Theobald, with a brief to carry out an enabling works project ahead of the proposed fit out scheme to the University's premier meeting facilities, The Senate and Council Chambers.

The enabling works contract was subsequently negotiated and delivered and comprised:

  • Internal demolition and comprehensive strip out works
  • Structural alterations and steel works
  • Asbestos removal

Further cosmetic and fit-out works were subsequently awarded to Matrix, comprising:

  • Comprehensive fit out works to provide fully refurbished meeting/conference facilities
  • New wall, floor and ceiling finishes throughout
  • Sandstone and marble refurbishment works
  • Installation of new WCs and platform lift

Focus on M&E

In addition to the main scope of works, extensive alterations were carried out to the mechanical and electrical services including a new state of the art AV system and intelligent lighting system with automated and zone area controls.
